Why I work at CEE?
Service to others and my community is what I base my life around. There is nothing more energizing then working with the amazing young men and women who are part of CEE’s programs. A lot of people talk about change, I’m lucky enough to get paid to make change happen every day.
What is your passion?
Connecting with people, I love making new friends and chillin with people from different cultures. That’s why I’m addicted to travelling, you get to see how other people live and experience how they look at the world.
Most important accomplishments
Where can we find you when you’re not working?
If its winter I’m at my apartment kicking it with friends usually listening to music. Rest of the year you’d find me outdoors, preferably by water or some kind of wilderness.
What is something that would be impossible for you to give up?
Talking. My mom always says I love the sound of my own voice.
Work & Community
What are you known for professionally? What do you have a knack for?
Community organizing, networking and public speaking. I’m a creative guy and I love coming up with solutions to problems and then nurturing a team that can solve them.
What excites you the most about your work & the contribution you can make?
That there is a demand for this, that so many people come up to me and say they wish there were more programs like this or that they wish CEE existed when they were in their 20’s. I love having a chance to create opportunities for young Black men and women and showcase the brilliance in our community.
What do you hope to achieve at CEE?
I hope that CEE can grow from just being a set of programs into a real movement within our community.
Where did you grow up?
All over Canada, junior high and highschool in Mississauga. From 18 onwards lived in Toronto.
I completed a doctorate at Oxford University in the UK in 2011.
